Humble Beginnings (1968)
The story of National Mechanical began back in 1968 as a modest heating and air conditioning partnership founded on a commitment to hard work and exceptional customer service. Driven by a reputation for absolute reliability, the business quickly established deep roots in Southern Ontario, eventually establishing its main headquarters in Oakville, Ontario.
Steady Growth and Culture in Ontario
Over the next several decades, the business grew into one of the most recognizable and trusted mechanical and electrical brands in Southern Ontario. This expansion wasn’t just about numbers; it was built on a foundational culture that treated employees as the business’s greatest asset.
As operations expanded across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)—opening remote offices in the surrounding area—the company intentionally prioritized promoting from within. Experienced members of the field workforce were consistently mentored and transitioned into key managerial and operational leadership roles. This deeply rooted commitment to internal advancement ensured that as the company grew larger, its core values, technical excellence, and positive relationship with its workforce remained entirely unbroken.
Planting Roots in the US (2014)
Decades of Canadian success laid the groundwork for our next grand chapter: crossing the border. In 2014, the official US expansion was launched. Through shared grit and technical expertise, our team successfully adapted our core values of quality, integrity, and employee-first culture to the American Commercial and Industrial landscape.
A New Chapter: Independence and the Southeast (2025–Present)
In 2025, following a private equity acquisition of the Canadian operations, the US division officially divested to become an entirely independent, privately owned entity: National Mechanical Experts. This transition allowed us to sharpen our focus exclusively on the needs of our regional clients, backed by a leadership team that provides an unbroken link to our historical roots and decades of technical excellence.
National Mechanical Today
Operating primarily across North Carolina and South Carolina, National Mechanical has grown from a single expansion footprint into 6 strategic offices. We proudly deliver industry-leading expertise across two core commercial tradelines:
